I read about this pamphlet published by Stockport council in (I think) the early 90’s and finally found a copy at the library yesterday. It covers a lot of places, a couple I haven’t read about elsewhere and is a nice little relic of the era. I’m posting a bit less lately as most of my efforts are currently focussed on penning my first book, ‘Ghosts of Stockport’ (working title), that documents the best stories I’ve collected from the Stockport area. There’s no real structure to my process, a pub here and a haunted house there, but it’s actually progressing a lot quicker than I anticipated and I hope to have it completed early in the new year 📖 There’s a lovely documentary you can watch for free on BFI player, Michael Winner’s Haunted England from 1961. The dramatisations are very much of their time but there’s some beautiful shots, and Lyme Park gets a scene which is always welcome. I’ll post the link in my story 🍿
